These two spent a wonderful day together at a very beautiful wedding of a very dear friend!I love these two...they are a darling couple! From the looks of things...I think they had a great time!
It's always a delight to ride the Staten island Island Ferry to the city of Manhattan to meet our son for lunch! Our favorite....lamb and rice, and chicken and rice from a street vendor that sits in front of the Fitch building in lower Manhattan where our son works. It's always a treat to sit in Battery Park on the edge of the Hudson overlooking the Statue of Liberty while we eat our lunch. Such a beautiful view with such beautiful people! I even got to do a photo shot with this little princess while riding the ferry!
While the parents are away the grandparents and grandkids will play... And play we did! It was a gorgeous day on Staten Island and so we went on a search for newts and we actually did find some! We also got ourselves locked out of the house for a moment, but luckily we remembered the bathroom window was left open and we found a latter sitting next to the house, so I climbed the latter and went through the bathroom window. What a day full of great adventures! We created some really fun memories!
We always enjoy just hanging out at the Ras house with these fun people! We played our favorite game "Ticket to Ride" It can get a little wild from time to time! Ian made us some very yummy pork lettuce wraps that were so yummy and so fun to "dip, dip, dip." We made some pilgrim hats to wear at the yummy thankful dinner Christy made on Sunday, we went swinging in the swings and listened to stories, and we also indulged in a little chair dancing! You've got to move it move it!
We were also invited to a real live publishing party at school! YAY DOLPHINS! It was so fun to walk to school with this great bunch and listen to some of the greatest stories ever written! I absolutely loved the cute story our grandson wrote, "Aidan is Slow." What a great story! There were sure some pretty amazing little authors in the group, and it was fun to get a chance to meet them all. I loved going to see where our grandkids go to school and I also have to admit, the cookies they served us were very yummy too!
Yay for cute little girls and handsome little boys, Ferry rides, trips to the city, subway trains and fun times at the Big Toys R' Us store in Manhattan! What a fun place! I especially loved the Willie Wonka Chocolate Shop!
It wouldn't be a trip to NY without a walk down Times Square, a ride on the subway and a trip to the Dallas Barbeque! Had a great time slurping on Giant, yummy Pina Coladas, eating corn on the cob, and indulging ourselves with the best barbecue sticky wings ever!
Oh, and a trip to the pet store! Guess what we came home with! YEP... A HAMSTER! I can't remember exactly what the kids ended up naming the darling little critter....something like Snuffy Fluffy, Fluffy Snuffy...or possibly Little Booger! Yep Little Booger! That's what this little guy calls her. We found him stuffing her into his pockets a few times! As you can see Little Booger is very well loved!
We took a train ride through Staten Island! This was a fun first for us and was a lot of fun! Along our journey we found the best Greek Diner with the yummiest food ever...
then on the way back, we stopped in this cute little park and played! We played soccer, played in the dry fountain, made human pyramids and gave shoulder rides! What a beautiful Fall day!
You definitely can't go to NY and not have a huge slice of delicious New York Pizza! Even the little ones got into the act! There's a party in my tummy...so yummy, so yummy!
Yep, we also stopped at Gray's Papaya for a yummy New York Hot Dog, and then spent the afternoon at the Museum of Natural History. What a marvelous place this is! We spent most of our time walking among the dinosaurs. SO INCREDIBLE! As we were leaving to go back to Staten Island, and were waiting at the Ferry terminal we had a fun small world experience. We heard someone yell, "President Rasmussen" Bob looked around and there stood Brandon, a very good friend who lives just up the street from us! He was there in NY visiting his friend Rachel, also from Cedar City, who is performing in the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Extravaganza! Never in a million years could this ever happen again! They rode the ferry across the Hudson with us. I have had such a wonderful time here! It;s hard to think about going home...It's been so fun to be here again and to enjoy family and such great times with some of our loves! Tomorrow I will wake up back in Utah and once again all of this will seem as though it were a dream. What a wonderful dream! I LOVE NEW YORK, but most of all I LOVE MY KIDS IN NEW YORK!
I woke up back in Utah to these cute little faces and lots of hugs and kisses! I even got to see where this cute little girl goes to school! I so love my family! I feel so blessed to belong to such wonderful, good people! Being with them brings to me a little bit of heaven on earth! Now I can't wait to see my Georgia Peaches!
