LIFE DOESN'T GET ANY SWEETER THAN THIS!

My name is Brenda Joy Rasmussen. I am the oldest of 5 children. I grew up in the small town of Parowan Utah. I have been born into a wonderful family of 3 sisters and one brother. We have been raised by good parents who have given us a life time of love. They have instilled in us a great love for the plain and simple, and most precious things in life, God and family. I now live in the small town of Enoch, Utah, not to far from where I grew up, with my husband Robert. Here in Enoch we have raised 5 beautiful children. We are the grandparents of 13 sweet grandchildren!

Enoch Community Covenant Event

What a very special day for the City of Enoch and their residents.  We had the great opportunity of being able to participate in the Enoch Community Covenant Signing Event! The Community Covenant Program has been implemented throughout the nation to celebrate and show appreciation to the members of our military who defend our way of life.  On March 24th, 2012 our citizens came together to pledge our support for those in our community who serve in the armed forces and also the family members they leave behind. Mayor Rasmussen was among those who signed the Community Covenant.
Others who signed the Covenant: Senator Casey Anderson, Representative Evan Vickers, Representative Brad Last, Iron County Commissioner Daniel Webster, Lt. Col. Larry Brough, WWII Veteran Norman Grimshaw, Sgt Rick Bonzo, Crystal Johnson Military Spouse and Family Assistance Specialist for the National Guard. Tyler Garfield Father of a son who serves with the 222nd, Brigadier General Micheal Liechty, Trey Fowler-father deploying to Afghanistan. He represented Children of parents deployed. Enoch City Mayor Robert Rasmussen-Father served in WWII.
The signing of the Community Covenant Document is a public demonstration of support for our community ans Iron County's military members and their families. It is a "covenant" between leaders and service members.  It reads:

WE RECOGNIZE:
The commitment and sacrifices service members and their families make for our country.
The strength of service members comes from their families.
Families must be supported by the community.
Strength of the community comes from each and every resident.
WE ARE COMMITTED TO:
Build partnerships that support the strength, resilience, and readiness of soldiers and their families.
Support families through programs and volunteer efforts to mitigate the impact of deployments.
Remember and honor all service members who have served and sacrificed on our behalf.
It was incredibly amazing to watch this Huge Black Hawk helicopter come flying in!  I had chills from head to toe.  It was such an incredible experience for me. The pilot, Wil Grimshaw is a cousin, he is Wayne and Beverly Grimshaw's son. It was so exciting to get to have our picture taken with him. Such a great young man!
These men are so amazing! We got the opportunity to welcome General Leichty to the city of Enoch, and then we enjoyed the day with these great men and women who serve us so diligently in the Military.
Such a great day!  Along with the Black Hawk helicopter landing, so did the life flight helicopter. There was good music and good food, and lots of family fun.
*What a great way for Mayor Bob to go out! He will turn in his resignation papers this next week.  For those who have asked about why he is resigning it’s certainly not by choice...he would love to be able to serve out his term as Mayor for the next 2 years, however, the Utah State retirement rules and regulations won't allow him to be employed by any employer who is also a participant in the Utah State Retirement System for a period of time. This has been very disheartening. Mayor Rasmussen has loved serving our community and dearly loves the people of Enoch City and those he has had the opportunity to serve with. Thank you to all of you for your kindness and for your support of him and our family during these last few years. We are so blessed to be able to live in Enoch surrounded by such good and wonderful people.

So what about Bob?
He's a man of many hats, and he wears them all so well! He's such an amazing, and inspiring leader. We love Bob!
