LIFE DOESN'T GET ANY SWEETER THAN THIS!

My name is Brenda Joy Rasmussen. I am the oldest of 5 children. I grew up in the small town of Parowan Utah. I have been born into a wonderful family of 3 sisters and one brother. We have been raised by good parents who have given us a life time of love. They have instilled in us a great love for the plain and simple, and most precious things in life, God and family. I now live in the small town of Enoch, Utah, not to far from where I grew up, with my husband Robert. Here in Enoch we have raised 5 beautiful children. We are the grandparents of 13 sweet grandchildren!

Momorial Day Memories

Each year we make our pilgrimage to the Parowan cemetery to put flowers on the graves of loved ones.  As we walk among the headstones we reminisce about these people who have blessed our lives so much, and who have forged the way for us and given great sacrifices so that we might enjoy the blessings of peace and happiness.  We enjoy hearing the stories from family and we chat with friends that we haven't seen for a long time.  It's a beautiful place to be on Memorial Day!
I love to walk among the headstones and read the engravings of the people buried here. Oh the stories that must lie among these graves.  I love the old headstones...they are beautiful!
A little morbid I know...But one day Bob and I will lie beneath the Red Hill among loved ones buried here.  I can't think of a more beautiful, peaceful place to be laid to rest.  Bob decided to try it on for size!
On memorial Day we like to drive around Parowan and reminisce.  We both grew up here and love this place!  We love to eat lunch at the Parowan Dairy Freeze.  I worked here when I went to High School.  My favorite meal is a deluxe cheeseburger, chocolate marshmallow malt and french fries...not to mention cheese taquitos with fry sauce!  While we were here on Memorial Day Elder & Sister Uchdorf came walking in for ice cream.  The Parowan Dairy Freeze of all places! It was so great to see them:)  We got a wave and a smile!  I wish I could have gotten a better picture to show you, this doesn't do them justice at all, but oh what a gentleman he is...he is a Prince of a  man, and his wife is so lovely. He treated her like a queen!
It was fun to drive by our honeymoon cottage.  This is the place we first lived after we were married. I love this place...so full of wonderful memories for me. Its been so nice to travel down memory lane today. I have been reminded of how very blessed I am, and I feel so grateful to have been raised by good parents and grand parents in such a wonderful place as this.  Thanks for the memories!
