LIFE DOESN'T GET ANY SWEETER THAN THIS!

My name is Brenda Joy Rasmussen. I am the oldest of 5 children. I grew up in the small town of Parowan Utah. I have been born into a wonderful family of 3 sisters and one brother. We have been raised by good parents who have given us a life time of love. They have instilled in us a great love for the plain and simple, and most precious things in life, God and family. I now live in the small town of Enoch, Utah, not to far from where I grew up, with my husband Robert. Here in Enoch we have raised 5 beautiful children. We are the grandparents of 13 sweet grandchildren!

It's Been a Fair Family Weekend!

Its always so much fun to gather for the Iron County Fair, it's such a fun time of year! These boys can grow some pretty amazing produce in their gardens. Look at those onions and cabbages!!!
They all bring home some pretty amazing ribbons too! Bob got blue ribbons on his corn and cabbage, and his potatoes won Judges choose this year!
My dad is usually a top prize winner every year and ends up with several beautiful ribbons from judges choice to grand sweepstakes!
At his age he still grows a huge, beautiful garden and it really paid off this year once again!
Nephew Taylor, and Uncle Jim also brought in some lovely ribbons!  So proud of all these men!  They are "Outstanding in their Field"  every year! growing some pretty amazing veggies:)
On Saturday morning we held our annual Stubbs Family Midlife Crisis Half Marathon, and ran through this amazing place!  The Parowan Gap is one of the neatest places in Southern Utah,  and the petroglyphs there are so incredible!  Oh the history thats written on these rocks! It was fun to run through such a special place this year with my family:)
We met early at 6:00 am!  It was dark and these two were there "Shootin' the Bull," waiting for us to get the party started:) They were our attentive and dutiful water boys for this years run.  They were awesome at it! (My dad and Jessie Smith)
Standing together at the beginning of the race at the crack of dawn!  I love these people! The run was amazing...and the day was so perfect.  Beautiful sights to see, a calm morning and running through the beautiful Parowan fields with these people was the best!
The last block of the run, just before you arrive at my parents house sits this cute little house.  Its where my grandpa and grandma Stubbs lived and raised their children.  It's a very special place for me.  There are so many wonderful memories of this place.  To run past this house and snap a pic was a lovely end to a very lovely race!
The welcome in after 13 miles of running (walking) was amazing!  We were greeted by these cute little princess all dressed up in dresses from grandma's dress up box:)  It's one of their favorite things to do when they go to visit! It was so sweet to have them waiting at the finish line with cheers and hugs:)
We were all triumphant and finished the race!  Some faster than others, but we all finished! It was fun to come running in to the place I grew up, surrounded with family:)
Everyone did great!  Eric came in 1st, Damon came in 2nd, Brandon and his cute friend came in 3rd, Carolyn came in 4th and Jamilla 5th:) My dad was #1 for being the top water boy this year and my Mom was #1 for being the best cook, and making us the yummiest breakfast to come home to:)
Catching our breath...
and hanging with cousins was the best ever!

It was certainly another successful Stubbs Family Half Marathon Event:)  I love these people!
One of our favorite places to spend our time is the Tiki Shack! We love this place!  I'm sad that It will close on monday... were sure going to miss it:(
The girls bought their very own Tiki...with their very own dollars! They were so proud!
Both young...
and old, WE LOVE THIS PLACE!
We got a chance this weekend to celebrate this cute little boys Birthday! He turned 1:)
It's fun playing in the Pena's backyard...

with the Lorax!  My niece Bree makes the cutest pinatas:)
The kids had such fun breaking it open and collecting all the candy!
Love these cute girls...
and these fun peeps!  I just love me a good Pena Party!
One of our favorite things to do is take the kids to the Carnival!  They have the best time riding the rides!

A bag of cotton candy and caramel apples at the end of a fun day is truly soooo delightful! Such a fun time at the fair:)
And these cute kids...
love a Sunday morning run through grandpa Bob's garden. There's just something about running your feet through that Enoch dirt that makes cute little hearts happy!
These cute kids tried some of the Honeycomb from grandpa Bob's Bees...
While these cute kids appetizered on fresh cantaloupe, corn on the cob and French fries from the garden.  Some even stuck a few up their nose just for fun;)
Sometimes a good Sunday face painting session is in order...
At least that's what Darth Maul thinks!
Sunday afternoon picnics at uncle Jim's house with the Ras family are always a fun way to celebrate some Labor Day fun!  It was great to visit with these people:)
One of my favorite events of the weekend is the Iron County Fair Parade! It's not really about the parade at all,  It's just so nice to sit in the shade and visit with loved ones we haven't seen for awhile and to watch the kids play and have fun:)
Whenever were at Grandma Ras' house these cute kids LOVE to climb the apple tree...
and play with Grandpa Bob's old Red Ryder BB Gun:)
It's always a treat to go to the Entertainment tent and listen to my favorite band play!  I love my uncle Alan and his band called "the Clique."  They are really good, and draw in a huge crowd.
My favorite is when they play the tune to "Mr. Bo Jangles" and dedicate it to my dad:)  It's one of his favorite songs and I always love having that dance with my cute dancing' daddy.  It's one of the best, most precious  moments of the year for me:)
I love my mom!  For years she prepares a Labor Day Lunch at her house following the parade and invites everyone to come. It's been a tradition that has brought family and friends together from near and far, for a lot of years:) I love this time of year and the blessing it is to be with these people.  I belong to such a great family:)
These 3 handsome members from the band stopped by for lunch.  Love my uncle Alan Grimmy (middle) what a great example he is, and is so musically talented.  Right now he has the opportunity to sing with the Gladys Knight choir and they are truly amazing!
These two sweet ones are really good at making flower fairies...
and my parents are really good at growing humongous and yummy garden produce, and then sending it home with everyone who comes by to visit.  They are so generous with everything they have:)
Oh the joys of being with family this weekend.  The hugs are the very best! It's been so much more than a Fair Weekend...It's been a weekend filled with the greatest blessings one could ever ask for... The love of family!  Feeling blessed:)
