LIFE DOESN'T GET ANY SWEETER THAN THIS!

My name is Brenda Joy Rasmussen. I am the oldest of 5 children. I grew up in the small town of Parowan Utah. I have been born into a wonderful family of 3 sisters and one brother. We have been raised by good parents who have given us a life time of love. They have instilled in us a great love for the plain and simple, and most precious things in life, God and family. I now live in the small town of Enoch, Utah, not to far from where I grew up, with my husband Robert. Here in Enoch we have raised 5 beautiful children. We are the grandparents of 13 sweet grandchildren!

I'll Be Home For Christmas...

It looks like we will be home for Christmas, right down in bed.  This guy is really sick and actually spent all of Christmas Eve in the Emergency Room.  After several tests and X-rays it was determined that he has the nasty strain of flu thats been going around, and it hit him really hard! He will spend the next three days sleeping.  This will be a Christmas I will never forget! It's hard to have a loved one so sick for Christmas, but we are going to celebrate anyway!
The halls at the hospital were decked out so adorable, giving some Christmas cheer to some pretty dampened spirits.
He's home!  Chey's home for Christmas and my heart is full.  It's nice to have him home:)  Just wish all of us could be home together.  My heart aches for my kids at Christmas time:) I have such sweet memories of Christmases past spent with my children.  I really miss those sweet times,  and I long for them.  My heart is with them all:)
This was Cheys White Elephant Gift this year for the Stubbs Family Christmas party!  It won't make a lot of sense unless you really know me...but this truly wins the best white elephant gift of the year award!  It's awesomely hilarious...bwahahahaha!
While Bob rested slept at home, Chey, Daniel and I drove over to Parowan to spend time with these fun people.  I love being with them!  There is such joy and holiday cheer when we are together.  Moms cooking is fabulous, her rolls out of this world and everything is so fun and festive.  My parents have always made Christmas so magical! I love the spirit in their home.  All is well...my heart is home for Christmas and I'm basking in the glow.
Since Bob wasn't able to be here, Chey was elected to read the Left-Right-left Story in his place.  He did a fabulous job, and of course everyone brought the best White Elephant gifts ever!  Even little Evyn got so excited over a box of lightbulbs!  Most adorable reaction to opening a gift I've ever seen! I love these people, they are huge blessing in my life and give me such joy:)
My sister Charlotte Mann created this amazingly cute Gingerbread house for my mom this year.  Her skills and talents are above and beyond amazing.  We oogled over this all night!
"Oh night divine!" It's been quite a day. Every emotion I've ever felt...I've felt them all today. Chey and Daniel took me on a midnight drive around Cedar City to look at Christmas lights.  "Oh night when Christ was born"  I'm feeling so grateful for that blessed night and for the love of my Savior and the light he is in my life.
After everyone went to bed, I stayed awake, alone, in the quiet glow of the Christmas tree, and read  scriptures and pondered the life of Christ and my relationship with him. It was a very precious moment for me to just pause and remember...remember all he is, and all he has done for me.  tears of joy shed. HE LIVES! HE LOVES ME!  He is aware of me and my needs and I can feel it!  I feel such gratitude for him, for his grace, his mercy and redeeming love.
And before I slept...I enjoyed one of my favorite Christmas treats!  My Mom always makes these for Christmas and so It was like a taste of home on the sweetest night.  I am overwhelmingly filled with such abundant joy and love.  Bob is resting peacefully and I am thankful...thankful that he is going to be ok.  My prayers continue with him as I continue to be watchful over him.
Christmas morning! It's bitter/sweet.  This will be the last Christmas as we've known it with this boy. He is the last to leave the nest and will soon be proposing to his cute friend Emily.  (He has the ring with him...He brought it to who and it's so lovely!) Christmases after this year will be a little different.  Not sad...just different.  We are so happy for Chey and Emily to begin a family of their own and begin their own fun Christmas traditions as have our older children with their families:) Some of the happiest Christmases Ive spent have been with our children when they were little.
It was so good to see this guy up on Christmas morning. Merry Christmas to me!  He is the best gift ever... my Christmas miracle, and my prayers continue with him.
Opening gifts with these two was great fun!  It's been so nice to have them both here for Christmas.  Chey and Daniel are good friends/roomates, and its so lovely to celebrate Christmas with them.  It's a blessing to have them here to bring good tidings of great joy to me in the midst of Bob's illness.  Both are a blessing in our lives!  JOY TO THE WORLD...MAY YOUR DAY BE MERRY AND BRIGHT...MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
