SURPRISE! SURPRISE!!!
Little did we know that we were in for a HUGE Surprise! Unbeknown to us Chels Picked her brother up from the airport and stashed him away at her house until the time was right:)
And then around midnight on March 28th after Bob and I were in bed and fast asleep, we got a knock on our bedroom wall...could it be Chey coming in to do his homework in the middle of the night like he usually does? What" Who? Who? Who is it??? we opened our eyes in disbelief...There standing at the bottom of our bed was Damon, Jamilla and Ian! Oh my goodness what a great surprise! They came to be with us as we celebrate Bob's retirement. Ian flew in from New York and Damon and Jamilla drove down with him! Here we are at 2 am still chatting, catching up on good times and playing on our i devices. My boys kinda like to do that when they get together! It feels so good to have them home again. The only thing that could make me happier is if everyone could be here with us:)
Now Let the fun begin! It started off just right with a dig in the dirt and a little trampoline jumping...our all time favorites here at Big Momma Rasland!
After Bobs retirement party, Ian cooked us up some yummy New York Steaks. He picked them up from Costco when he arrived in Salt Lake and brought them down for the celebration! I'm normally not a meat eater and don't care that much for steak, but oh my goodness...these were good! I even ate it pretty pink, and without steak sauce...that's really unusual for me:) We made a little garlic mash to go with it then turned on a little Frank Sinatra and ate in style. SO much fun!
I love my Boys! So Handsome!
We indulged in some entertaining after dinner fun! Ice cream Duck beaks with my Jamillie...and look at those fabulous movie stars! Eat your hearts out all you Hollywood stars...these three are ready for the walk of fame!
And oh how they love jumping high with daddy...and turning the trampoline into a sand pile was just the things to do this trip! They are so creative with their trampoline jumping!
And they love being creative drawing on Grandma Dolly's Wall of Fame! I love the picture of Jasmine and the upside-down angel!
We got lots of Hugs and Kisses and Grandma and Grandpa Stubbs', and some good stories while sitting around the table with grandpa. Little does he know they were all being recorded! It also felt good to just sit in the sun and relax a little.
We love grandma's Tea parties... they are the best! She always knows just how to make them extra special!
And we had sharing time with grandma too! We showed her our peek- a -boo Easter eggs that we made, and she showed hers! Her granddaughter made this one for her a few years ago...it's one of her treasures, she keeps it safe in her glass cabinet!
We had a lot of fun visiting grandma and grandpa Stubbs! They always make us feel so special when we come to visit.
We visited Grandma Rasmussen too! Our favorite things are swing in the tire swing, matching up the bucket of plastic animals, building fancy things with tinker toys, and finding the secret entrance in the room of eternal night!
Miya is a magnificent photographer don't you think? She got a lot of great shots of everyone!
It was so fun to visit with everyone! The stories were flying right and left... I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life! Yep...Got those stories recorded too! It's been such a wonderful week with family! We watched General Conference together before Ian had to head north to catch his flight back to New York. I'm really going to miss everyone:(
Special thank you to all who orchestrated this fun surprise! And to Chels, Damon and Jamilla for taking such good care of their brother while he was here... getting him to Enoch, and to and from the airport! It was the best SURPRISE ever! But I'm sure the biggest surprise came for Chels when she got ticketed for speeding while taking her brother to catch his flight back to NY on time! SURPRISE, SURPRISE! Sorry Chels, we know you were only trying to do a good deed:( Oh how we love surprises!!!
