LIFE DOESN'T GET ANY SWEETER THAN THIS!

My name is Brenda Joy Rasmussen. I am the oldest of 5 children. I grew up in the small town of Parowan Utah. I have been born into a wonderful family of 3 sisters and one brother. We have been raised by good parents who have given us a life time of love. They have instilled in us a great love for the plain and simple, and most precious things in life, God and family. I now live in the small town of Enoch, Utah, not to far from where I grew up, with my husband Robert. Here in Enoch we have raised 5 beautiful children. We are the grandparents of 13 sweet grandchildren!

New York City!

We arrived in New York!  It's time to play:)
It's been awhile since we've seen these kids!

First on the list of fun things to do is go on a
treasure hunt to find the first signs of Spring!
 We sure did find them!
For Dinner Kira made me the most delicious
lettuce wraps!  She's a famous chef in the making
and is very creative with her food:)
They were so yummy!
Thanks to Aunt jamilla's eggspertice tutorials and her
egg molds we had a great time making sugar eggs!
we moulded them, let then dry overnight...
Then we decorated them!  These kids did an awesome
job and their sugar eggs turned out soooo cute!
When we go to see these kids we always enjoy
our newt catching adventures together,
and its always fun to meet new friends!
Enjoying Ian & Christy's new front yard.
They now have a fun place to plant their
vegetable garden and flowers. It sure looks nice:)
We had a great time bubbling over the top
with these kids! It's always good clean fun.
Our first night here we went to our
favorite Peruvian place to eat in Jersey.
Love me some chicken and potatoes,
Bob loves him some Plantains and Ceviche!
OHHHH Deliciousness to the max!
And it just wouldn't be an evening in NYwithout a
Ras Family dance party with glowsticks!
I love the view from the front window!
You can see the Hudson, and look across
to see the Manhattan skyline at a distance.
Almost in the center of the upper pic, you
can see the Freedom tower.  Soon it will
be completed and the spire placed on the top!
We love walking to this park on
Staten Island to play with the kids.
They love roller blading, skateboarding
and playing frisbee here!  Kira learned
how to ride a skate board today:)
Lots of fun and cute smiles at the park today!
I Love playing with these happy faces!
We found the yummiest little taco joint
across form the park.  So authentic, so
delicious and loved the music playing
loudly in the background:) We had the
entire place to ourselves!
The tacos were so delicious!
We took in an evening drive to Manhattan to
visit times square.  I love the drive!
There are so many beautiful bridges and
spectacular buildings to see.
One of our favorite places to visit is China Town!
You can find the most interesting food here:)
We at at our next favorite place, the
Dallas Barbecue!  Oh my!  The wings
are to die for and the Virgin Pina colada's
are heavenly! Had such a fun time
slurping them with these fun peeps!
One of our favorite places to visit is of course China Town!  You can find the most interesting things to eat here:)  This food was so yummy!  The soup was delicious and I even had my first taste of frog legs. That was being pretty adventurous for me. I'm still not sure I'm a fan...
But it was fun to try new things...
And enjoy the company!
We had the funnest Easter picnic at the church!
A yummy easter luncheon was prepared,
along with the cutest scripture treasure hunt.
They also made Easter crafts and and had
the best Easter Egg hunt.  Everyone came
away with their baskets completely full!
It was such a fun way to celebrate...
An Eggstra special day...
With these eggstra special kids,
 wearing granny's glasses!
The afternoon and evening were enjoyed
 relaxing, throwing the baseball...
And making homemade Reeses Peanut
Butter Cups with this handsome boy!
He did a great job!  They were so
delicious, just like the real thing!
Sunday Easter Morning Smiles with her
new Easter pup!
I got to listen to Aidan recite an article
of faith, and I got to hear Christian give
a very lovely talk in church on Easter Sunday!
It was fun to be a kid again and get
to color Easter Eggs!  I really miss this!
One of my favorite memories as a child.
Such hard workers!  We did a
little spring cleaning together.  The yard
turned out looking fabulous!
Ian Made Home Dipped Chocolate Strawberries!
I laugh every time i look at this picture!
They really were delicious though:)
While we were visiting this trip, our son Ian
took us on a very memorable visit to upstate
New York to a place called Nineveh,
formerly knows as Colesville. Bob's
5th Great grandfather once lived here. His name
is Joseph Knight Sr.  a Good friend of the prophet
Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith helped work this
land when he was hired on by Joseph
Knight Sr. as a farm hand. It's so beautiful here!
This is the Joseph Knight Home. We weren't sure we
could find it, but were so pleasantly surprised
when we just suddenly came upon it!
What a blessing!  It still stands, and is in some of
the most beautiful farmland I have ever seen!
It was so fun to spend some time here to just
ponder and be still.  There is a very special feeling here.
The Joseph Knight Sr. home is the home of the first
Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day
Saints. The prophet Joseph Smith and his brother
Hyrum spent alot of time in this place.
Standing at the side of Pickerell pond directly
north east of the Joseph Knight home.  Hyrum
Smith, & Newel Knight, along with Joseph
Smith, Orson Pratt and Sidney Rigdon were
missionaries in the Colesville area and
baptized many people in this pond!
Bob and Ian standing in front of
the Susquehanna River just a few
steps behind the Joseph Knight Sr. Home.
The water in this river is so still and beautiful!
Oh the stories this river could tell.

 of the old Knight home.

of the Joseph Knight Sr, Home
After our special visit to Nineveh we then traveled a
little south into Pennsylvania and had the blessing
of being able to see Where the Priesthood was restored.
We stood on the homesite of Joseph and Emma
Smith, and walked through an old cemetery there.
Joseph and Emma's child Alvin is buried here
 along with Emma's Father.
The kids loved playing in the bushes...
and sitting in the trees along the
bank of the Susquehanna river,
This is the place where Joseph and Hyrum were
baptized and where they received the priesthood.
Such a beautiful place!  Its so peaceful and serene
and such a beautiful spirit accompanied us here.
We took a moment to pause and pray for family.
These are the yummy homemade cinnamon
rolls Kira made and packed for our luncheon
to take on our trip to Nineveh!
They were so yummy! We had such a wonderful
l adventure.  One we will never ever forget!
We've had such a fun time here this week!
I'm gonna really miss the fun:)  Feeling so
blessed to have such cuties in my life.
Such a little gentleman to help me
with my gigantic suitcase out to the car!
Saying good bye is really tough!
Flying out of New York JFK You can see the
beautiful Verizano Bridge below connecting my heart
to Staten Island and family there.  Thanks for
the fun, and beautiful sweet memories made.
Parting really is such sweet sorrow....
til we meet again, I love you!
