LIFE DOESN'T GET ANY SWEETER THAN THIS!

My name is Brenda Joy Rasmussen. I am the oldest of 5 children. I grew up in the small town of Parowan Utah. I have been born into a wonderful family of 3 sisters and one brother. We have been raised by good parents who have given us a life time of love. They have instilled in us a great love for the plain and simple, and most precious things in life, God and family. I now live in the small town of Enoch, Utah, not to far from where I grew up, with my husband Robert. Here in Enoch we have raised 5 beautiful children. We are the grandparents of 13 sweet grandchildren!

In the Summer Time When the Weather is Fine...

In the Summer time when the weather is fine... we get to play with these cute kids.  We picked them up and took them to lunch at Hermies!  This is the place their dad worked when he was a young lad.  It was so fun to show them their daddy's old stomping grounds:)  His name is still even etched into the cement sidewalk there.
I love me some Grandma Heaven!  It feels so great to be loved by these cute Grands!  I love them all so much! Its wonderful to have my arms full of them:)
WE LOVE SUMMER! Let the fun begin:) It's such a great time to catch bugs and grasshoppers...
and jump and splash in puddles after a lovely rain!
Summer is a good time to dine at the Pastry Pub. Its a family favorite...the food is delish...
and the company, the cutest I ever did see!
In the Summer time when the weather is fine it's fun to go walking with our arms around cousins you love and haven't seen in a very long time,
and watching the Green show with them at the Shakespeare festival in the warmth of a Midsummers Eve...
and then stopping off for a TIKI at the Tiki Shack for a delicious treat!  Pina Colada Snowcap with Ice Cream, or Margarita topped with War Head is the very best!!! I need one now!  The Tiki Shack has become a fun family tradition:)
My favorite Tiki Shack smiles!
In the Summer time when the weather is fine Darla the dog is waiting for us at the Animal Shelter...
and we get to have some fun petting the kitties and walking the dogs.  The kids love the Enoch Animal Shelter and spend a lot of time there.
SUMMER!  Piling into the back of Grandpa Bobs truck and taking a drive out to Three Peaks!
Nets in hand...
and cousins to snuggle...
seeking and peeking under warm bubble rocks,
with some of the greatest people on earth...
to find 3 amazingly huge blue belly lizards!  And oh what an exciting find! These kids love catching lizards:)  I love these cute little dewy faces and sun drenched cheeks:)  YAY FOR SUMMER!
Yay Turbo! "That Snail is Fast!" In the summer we escape the sun and take in an afternoon matinee...
and take some time to chill with little buddies...
and these there's this beautiful landscape design artist that helped me lay a stone path, and planted some box woods for me!
In the Summer time when the weather is fine, we love a good game of hopscotch...
enjoy some lovely sidewalk chalk Masterpieces...
and sell fresh peas from grandpa's garden along the roadside.  There's nothing better that fresh peas, handpicked by these beauties!
In the Summer time when the weather is fine, we love taking a nice dip in the pool on a hot afternoon, with cute little curly headed kids with soaking wet hair and sweet smiles...
and we love going down the water slide, and round and round the lazy river over and over again with these little fishes...
And of course, there's the double thumbs up jump with this pretty mermaid!!! WE LOVE SUMMER!
In the Summer time when the weather in fine...we take a trip over to Parowan to visit some pretty special people.  We love Grandma and Grandpa Great Stubbs!
Grandma lets us get into her dress-up box...
and Grandpa takes us for rides on his lawn mower,
and then for a little fishing trip down to the corner at the Priddy Meeks pond.  The ducks are always fun to feed too!
And nothing says summer quite like a tea party!
Not just any ol' tea party mind you...But a real tea party with Grandma Stubbs!  She knows how to give the BEST Tea parties!
Summertime is also a fun time to visit Grandma Great Ras and Aunt Diane!
We love to sit in her living room and build amazing creations with Tinker Toys...
and count, and pair up all the animals in the Noahs Ark container!  Oh, And don't forget the treats and hugs from Aunt Diane the candy lady....and there's always that fun Aunt Chelsea pulling some pretty crazy faces for us!!!
In the summer time when the weather is fine...We go to lunch together at the Parowan Dairy Freeze and order Deluxe Cheeseburgers, English Chips and Chocolate Marshmallow Malts! OH MY!!!
And we roast marshmallows and make s'mores around the fire pit in the dark! These kids made me the yummiest S'mor I've ever tasted:)
In the Summer time, We love catching toads in the window well.  You never know if you'll find one so it's always the best surprise! Christian poured water down the window well and on the first morning one toad came up.  By the second morning we had 4 toads surface!
These Summer Warriors had a great time playing with them...
Floating them in coconut boats...
swimming with them in the wading pool....
Having toad races....
and even more toad races...
And wearing them on our heads!  "This toad makes a really nice Hat:)"  I think uncle "Shake" would completely agree!
In the summer time when the weather in fine...We party hearty and jump on the trampoline with cousin Logan...
til he's completly used, abused, exhausted and nearly dead!
But we revive him and bribe him enough to do a little Belly Dancing with us!  HA HA! Good sport Logan:)
Yay for summer when we can splash in the pool...
and get our feet wet with cousins...
and get our entire bodies soaked like this fearless little dare devil! He's not afraid of anything...uuuum, well, maybe he is afraid (petrified) of Bees and Wasps!
Summer is a fun time for a drive through the Parowan Gap with Grandpa Bob to see the Petroglyphs!
Summer is fabulous when we get together for a Midsummer's Eve Pena/Ras Party. Yay for a Brauts n' Burgers picnic!  Yummy food and lots of fun!!!  playing, playing, playing...
and visiting, visiting, visiting! Oh the Power in this group!  What great guys:)
By the end of the evening the party had turned into a giant family sidewalk chalk art festival! It was so fun to see the many different creations!
SO MUCH FUN! And such a great way to break in the newly poured driveway!!
And the party just definitely would not be the same without Alexis! All the kids LOVE her...and we are so glad she is ours to love:) Thank you Aaron for sharing your cute wife! Oh, and not to mention Uncle Chey (Shake) the photo bomber in the background!

In the Summer time when the weather is fine...Aunt Carolyn brings her giant colorful parachute and the kids have a blast...
Hinding under it...
being pulled across the lawn on it...
and being tossed up into the air!!!!
OH THE JOYS OF SUMMER!
It's been such a warm and wonderful Summer vacation/Grandma Camp!  I have loved every minute Ive been able to spend with these cute grands:) The time is coming too quickly to a close and I will have to say farewell for a time, but for now we will make sure to measure their height on the grandma Wall of Fame for another year.
Oh My, how these kids have all grown this past year! We have sure missed having the Eves kids with us this visit.  We hope to see them soon:)  We love and miss them.
.
Before we load up to head north, we enjoy a yummy ice cream treat together...
And then turn the toads loose back into the window well to hibernate for another year. "We'll see you again next year" they say:)
After lots of hugs and kisses and "See you later's" we buckle these precious bundles in and send them north.  We will fly up and meet them again tomorrow to play for another day before the fun must come to an end, but there is still yet to be...
fishing and a cool dip in the lake...
Cousin Smiles, Chocolate and cherry toppers at Arctic Circle...
Granny up to her tricks...
And before we take the New Yorkers home we'll have one last hoorah with this cute little crew at the Red Iguana Restaurant!
So good...such yummy food and such a fun time:)  Trying to s-t-r-e-t-c-h the moments and make them last a little longer!
In the Summer time when the weather is fine... it's hard to say goodbye:(
There are Tight hugs, twirly hugs...
and some teary hugs and sad goodbyes. "I was born in the City, but was meant to live in the country" says Christian with tears running down his cheeks.
I have sure enjoyed the precious moments we've been able to share with family this trip.  It's always so hard to see such moments come to an end. We are off on another adventure however. .. Tomorrow morning early we will find ourselves in NYC with these 3 cute grands.  So glad we get to take them home and happy to enjoy another week of Summer time.... when the weather is fine...with them:)
